The Sitzer/Burnett case, which centers on a landmark settlement between the National Association of Realtors and various plaintiff groups, is viewed by the legal analyst as fundamentally weak in its current appeal. The case follows a settlement reached over a year ago, aiming to address allegations of antitrust issues involving real estate multiple listing services (MLS) and broker practices.

The expert, who serves as vice president and general counsel for the California Regional Multiple Listing Service (CRMLS), indicated that the appeal is unlikely to overturn the previous settlement. The legal reasoning behind the appeal is considered fundamentally insubstantial, leading the analyst to believe that the courts will uphold the original agreement.
