Oregon City – An 18-year-old West Linn graduate, Lucas Gray, tragically lost his life in a forklift accident at a construction site on August 16, 2023. Lucas, who graduated from West Linn High School in June 2025, was working with West Linn Construction Company, ICON, and was saving money to attend the University of Utah this fall.
The unfortunate incident occurred just two days before Lucas was set to complete his summer job. Known for his compassionate nature and leadership qualities, Lucas was remembered fondly by peers and family, who described him as a caring person with an adventurous spirit. He was actively involved in sports during his high school years, particularly excelling in wrestling, where he earned the “heart of a lion” award for his courage and selflessness.
