Fans enjoy the atmosphere during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will not participate in the WNBA All-Star Game due to a groin injury sustained during a recent match against the Connecticut Sun. Clark, who was selected as the leading fan vote-getter and team captain, will also miss the 3-point contest. Despite her absence, top players from the league, including individuals from the Indiana Fever and the Seattle Storm, will compete in the festivities at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark will still serve in a coaching capacity, guiding Team Clark during the event.
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, the leading fan vote-getter and captain of one of the teams for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, has announced she will not be participating in the event due to a groin injury. The injury occurred during a recent road victory over the Connecticut Sun, and as a result, Clark will also miss the 3-point contest.
The All-Star festivities are set to take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which also serves as Clark’s home court. Despite her absence, the game will still feature numerous top players from across the league, including teams from the Indiana Fever and the Seattle Storm, both of which have three players selected for the All-Star Game. Replacement players have been announced, allowing both the Washington Mystics and Minnesota Lynx to send three players to participate in the festivities.
Even though Clark will not play, she will still lead as a captain, taking on a coaching role for her team, Team Clark. The opposing team, Team Collier, will be captained by Napheesa Collier from the Minnesota Lynx. The All-Star Weekend is scheduled to kick off on Friday, July 18, featuring the 3-point contest and a skills challenge.
This upcoming All-Star Game, which is being held in Indianapolis for the first time, will be broadcast live on ABC and available for streaming on the ESPN app and Fubo. The festivities will continue at the Indiana Convention Center and Gainbridge Fieldhouse through July 19.
In a special community event, an 8-year-old Fever fan, Mi’ Joi Angel Perkins, will attend the skills competition and the All-Star Game after receiving tickets as part of an initiative to engage young fans. Additionally, Fever player Kelsey Mitchell and comedian Colson are scheduled to perform during the Fever Fest event.
Clark’s absence is particularly disappointing for fans, as she has had a remarkable career, maintaining a record of 181 consecutive starts throughout her college and professional career until multiple injuries sidelined her this season. Prior to her injury, she averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds over 13 games. However, she has missed 11 games this season due to various injuries, affecting her ability to contribute to the team’s success.
Fans looking to attend the All-Star Weekend can purchase daily adult admission tickets for events at the Indiana Convention Center for $28.40, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. The All-Star Weekend will include a range of events, culminating in an outdoor music and comedy night on Saturday, July 19, headlined by The Kid LAROI.
The All-Star Game remains a marquee event in the WNBA calendar, showcasing the league’s top talent and drawing significant attention from fans nationwide.
